Policy of Conflict Minerals
Conflict minerals are the four minerals (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, Gold) mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the conflict area, and its surrounding countries.
The funds created by conflict minerals flow into the armed forces in the country, causing not only human casualties but also human rights violations such as human rights violations by local residents and exploitation of labor in the process of extracting minerals.
As the "Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act", which includes the conflict mineral regulation clause, passed through the US Congress in July 2010, The obligation to report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) whether the use of conflict minerals has become effective.
Therefore, companies listed on the US stock market must report the use of the conflict minerals, and domestic companies that deliver products to US listed companies are also affected by the regulations.
LK ENGINEERING will make the following active efforts regarding the conflict minerals regulation that is becoming an international
▪ By applying international standards regulating conflict minerals, we will establish a dispute mineral business process to comply with the law.
▪ We will participate in EICC and Global e-Sustainability Initiative, GeSI 's disputed mineral exploitation activities.
▪ We will investigate whether 3TG (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) used in our products are used for conflict minerals for domestic and overseas supplier by using the EICC Template of EICC-GeSI.
▪ Then we will ask the vendor that uses the conflict minerals to submit a written Dispute Mineral Usage Reporting Questionnaire and Confirmation of non-use of conflict mineral
LK ENGINEERING requires all partners to comply strictly with its dispute mining policy.
▪ Suppliers should strive to identify all smelters where the conflict minerals in the supply chain have been purchased.
▪ Suppliers must submit timely LK ENGINEERING's request for conflict mineral data.
▪ LK ENGINEERING may cease trading with a supplier if the supplier provides incorrect information about the supply chain of the conflict minerals and the supply chain of the supplier is uncertain
LK ENGINEERING will actively participate in our efforts to prohibit the use of conflict minerals with our partners and customers.
